
Day 1: Arrival in Leh
Our representative will meet you at the airport and escort you to your accommodation in Leh where you will check-in. On the first day of your trekking trip in Ladakh, you will spend your entire day for acclimatization. Although there are many things to do in Leh town, it’s best that you spend your entire day at leisure allowing time for high altitude acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in Leh.
Day 2: Acclimatization day in Leh
You will spend most of today allowing your body to acclimatize because trekking tours in Ladakh require at least a day or two for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in Leh.
Day 3: Leh to Lamayuru (drive). Trek to Wanla
You will drive from Leh to Lamayuru. It's a 3-hour drive. Visit the famous Lamayuru Monastery perched on top of a hill. You trek will start from Lamayuru. You will ascend till you reach Prinkti La (3700 Meters) and then descend to reach Wanla. Lamayuru to Wanla distance is around 9 KM. Overnight in Wanla.
Day 4: Wanla to Hinju
You will pass through fields of barley along a river to reach Hinju. Distance to be covered today is 16.5 KM. Overnight in Hinju.
Day 5: Hinju to Sumda Doksa
You will ascend to reach Kongskil La (5000 Meters) from where you will catch stunning views of Karakoram and Stok ranges. You will then descend from the pass to reach Sumda Doksa. Distance to be covered today is around 11.5 KM. Overnight in Sumda Doksa.
Day 6: Sumda Doksa to Dung Dung Chan La Base
You will pass through the village of Sumda Chenmo before starting the steep climb to the base of Dung Dung Chan La. The trek today is 16 KM long. Overnight in Dung Ding Chan La Base.
Day 7: Dung Dung Chan La Base to Chilling
You will ascend till you reach Dung Dung Chan La pass (4600 Meters). You will spend most of the time descending to Chilling today. Distance to be covered today is 10 KM. Overnight in Chilling.
Day 8: Chilling to Skyu
You will cross Zanskar river before making entry into the Hemis National Park. From here, you will follow the trail to reach Skyu. The trek today is 10.5 KM long. Dinner and overnight in Skyu.
Day 9: Skyu to Markha
After breakfast, you will leave for Markha village. You will walk along Markha river passing a handful of households. Upon reaching Markha, visit the old monastery of the village. Skyu to Markha distance is 21 KM. Dinner and overnight in Markha.
Day 10: Markha to Hankar
After breakfast, you will set off for your next destination, Hankar. You will walk flanked by Marka river and reach the tiny village of Umlung at 16,000 feet. Techa Monastery sits on top of a hill near Umlung village. You can pay this monastery a visit before continuing your trek to Hankar. Markha to Hankar distance is 11 KM. Dinner and overnight in Hankar.
Day 11: Hankar to Nimaling
After breakfast, you will leave for Nimaling, the huge pasture which serves as grazing ground for cattle in summers. As you trek towards Nimaling, you will catch a breathtaking view of Kang Yatse Peak (6400 meters). The trek today is 10.5 KM long. Dinner and overnight in Nimaling.
Day 12: Nimaling to Shang Sumdo
After breakfast, you will start a strenuous climb to reach the highest point of the trek. It is Kongmaru La pass at an elevation of 5250 meters. This is almost the same height as the Everest Base Camp. If you are lucky and the weather is clear, you will be able to spot K2, the 2nd highest mountain in the World. After the unbelievable experience at Kongmaru La, you will start descending and reach Shang Sumdo. Nimaling to Shang Sumdo distance is 17 KM. Overnight in Shang Sumdo.
Day 13: Shang Sumdo to Hemis
A steady walk of 10 KM will take you to Hemis. Visit the famous Hemis Monastery. You will then be transferred to Leh by car, an hour drive.
